There are over 9000 species of earthworm. Only 7 are viable for vermicomposting, the process of composting with worms.

RFK Jr. infamously had a pork tapeworm lodge its way into his brain and die. This likely came from from eating raw or undercooked pork that was in contact with feces.
Worms do not have lungs. They breathe through their skin and need moisture to survive.
Earthworms can eat their own weight in food every day. Within a year, they can produce ten pounds of casting.
Worms have no eyes but can sense light. Too much exposure to sunlight can paralyze them, however.
